May 1 March for Immigrants and Workers

Bend the Arc: Pittsburgh has signed on as a co-sponsor of the May 1st march for immigrants and workers, organized by Casa San Jose and LCLAA Pittsburgh. The march calls for an end to ICE raids in Allegheny County, the rights of all workers to $15 an hour and a union, and the dignity and rights of all people, regardless of race or immigration status.
There are many ways that you can be involved in this important event.
  • Come to the march! It begins at 3pm at Hot Metal and South Water Street.
  • Come to the festival after the march for food, music and fun. PFT Hall, 10. South 19th Street, 5:30-7:30pm. There is going to be a Bend the Arc table at the event — please let us know if you would be willing to volunteer to sit at the table, distribute our swag, and answer questions about Bend the Arc.
  • The organizers need help creating large puppets for the march. There will be a big art build on Sunday between 12-7 at Bloomcraft (460 Melwood in North Oakland). Please come to help with this if you can.
We hope to see you there!
