DELIVERED: Over 4,000 American Jews ask top Republican Jewish group to rescind Trump endorsement

Update 11/04/16: We redelivered this petition to the Republican Jewish Coalition because with just a few days left before Election Day, it’s not too late for them to get on the right side of history.

We started this petition to the Republican Jewish Coalition back in July after then-presumptive Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump posted an anti-Semitic tweet featuring a Star of David.1

On the first day of the Republican National Convention, we delivered this petition with thousands of signatures to Matthew Brooks, the Executive Director of the Republican Jewish Coalition.

For a national Jewish group to continue to support Trump is unconscionable.1 As a Republican group, the RJC has the ability to pressure his campaign to cease being a megaphone for hate. As a Jewish group, they are morally obligated to do so.

But the RJC remained silent.

Then, with just a month left in the election, Americans learned that Donald Trump not only condones acts of sexual violence, but brags about having taken part in these inappropriate and non-consensual acts himself.3 It is horrifying and, a year ago, would have been unimaginable that this needs to be said — and yet it does: sexual assault is unacceptable and indefensible from anyone, much less a major-party candidate for President.

As more and more prominent Republicans, including RJC board members,4 deserted their nominee, it is unthinkable that the Republican Jewish Coalition refused to rescind their endorsement of Trump.

We’ve had to continue updating this petition throughout the campaign to reflect the growing number of Americans who are threatened by Donald Trump’s campaign of hatred and bigotry. As Jews, We’ve Seen This Before, and we cannot let it happen here.
