Turn Congress 180 is a national effort built of local volunteer-led campaigns across the country that give key Representatives a choice — continue enabling an immoral agenda or turn 180 degrees towards protecting our democracy and our lives. American Jews in particular have a unique strategic role in standing against efforts to target immigrants, Muslims, women, people of color, the poor, and democracy itself.

Rep. Zeldin of NY's 1st district is our Representative. He has voted in line with Donald Trump's position more than 97% of the time. He voted for Trumpcare. He voted in favor of penalizing states and localities for providing sanctuary to immigrants. He is not aligned with the values and interests of his constituents — us!

On Wednesday, August 22nd at 6:30 pm, I’m inviting fellow progressive Jews and allies in our congressional district NY-1 to my home to launch our Turn Congress 180 campaign to hold Rep. Zeldin accountable. I would love for you to join us.

At the meeting, we’ll spend time getting to know our neighbors who are interested in getting organized to hold key representatives accountable. Then volunteer roles will be up for grabs for specific tasks that will be explained at the meeting.

In every generation, Jews have fought for freedom, dignity, and justice. And right now, we must raise our voices as Jews to confront the immorality of the Trump and rightwing agenda. When we raise our collective moral voice, we serve as a warning cry to those in power that their time on the wrong side of history is limited. And when we show up in solidarity with all who are threatened, we remind the world what never again truly means.
